NEW Profiles™ Offer Easy Substrate Joining Solution

Alcan Composites USA is pleased to offer designers and fabricators an easy, cost-effective solution for attaching 3mm rigid substrates in dimensional graphic displays and exhibits designed for medium-to-long-term applications. New Profiles™ aluminum extrusions not only can be used to join substrates but to provide a finished edge to display pieces. And, because Profiles feature an anodized finish, they’re perfect for both indoor and outdoor displays and signs.

Profiles aluminum extrusions will be introduced by Alcan Composites at the Specialty Printing & Imaging Technology 2009 SGIA Expo in New Orleans Oct. 7-9. Show-goers are invited to stop by Alcan Composites’ Booth No. 1493 for a first-hand look at new Profiles aluminum extrusions.

“Alcan Composites USA originally began utilizing Profiles to showcase Dibond® graphic display board applications in its sales kits last fall,” said Doug Twitchell, Dibond national sales manager. “Customers were immediately taken with the ease with which Dibond panels could be joined with these aluminum extrusions, as well as the resulting finished look.”

Profiles are available in the following three shapes:

U-shaped Profiles are designed for framing and enclosing an otherwise exposed edge while providing additional rigidity in finished displays.

L-shaped Profiles are designed for joining two substrates in a 90-degree corner connection with reduced fabrication costs.

H-shaped Profiles are designed for joining two substrates in a flat or side-by-side connection, allowing for the creation of longer displays without custom-sized substrates.

Profiles aluminum extrusions are available in 98-inch lengths and feature a Class II anodized finish that resists scratching and environmental wear and tear. Profiles can be cut with either a table saw or circular saw.
